Forgot to mention we had to buy a new washing machine recently. We had a top of the range Hotpoint that was around 8 years old, and if I am honest was the worst machine I have ever owned. Having owned previously an Indesit which lasted for over 14 years with only a couple of minor faults.
The Hotpoint on the other hand had so many issues that I couldn’t recall them all, however the final straw was when it became “live” during use! Catherine never worked out that the noise she could hear was the arcing of the electricity!! The British Gas engineer looked at me in disbelief when he heard it, just before he pulled the plug out the wall and cut it off!
Part of the British Gas Appliance Cover gives you cash (or vouchers) towards a replacement unit in the event of it being unserviceable. So it was with this money that we went to Currys and purchased the LG machine. There is no belt drive on the machine, the motor is attached directly to the drum, and therefore is quieter than a normal belt driven machine.
The machine is very high tech, feels and looks quality too. The wash cycles are very plentiful and you can even use your smartphone to see if there are any errors or to create new wash programmes!
It’s been about 8 weeks now since we got the machine, and so far no issues and its been fantastic as expected. I highly recommend this washing machine, it is highly rated online and by Which also.
